1st day of IVF.

First day of IVF was so easy! Now only if we knew that we will get a Positive pregnancy test at the end of Febuary I could just relax completely! The last couple weeks leading up to this class have been quite stressful for Alex and I both. We found ourselves bickering with one another only to realize we were both stressed. I found myself having trouble sleeping at night and on a scale of 1-10 stress scale.. I was a 12!! Our class was yesterday (20th) at 2pm. The nurse was very very clear and knowledgable. We have both been very impressed with her so far. As soon as we left there I was so relieved. No stress. I am so happy to begin this process. I just hope and pray for good results. The Lupron shot was not bad. Alex gave me my first one last night. It feels like a lil bee sting. My stomach felt a little queasy last night. I'm not sure if this was due to the medication or due to all of my emotions balled up in one for the day. I will stop my birth control Saturday. We will continue the Lupron shots until told to stop. After I stop my BC pills Saturday I will have a small period. I go in on Feb 1st, 5th, and 8th for ultrasounds of my ovaries and bloodwork. If on Feb 1st my ultrasound and bloodwork are fine we will proceed with IVF. If by small chance my labwork and/or ultrasound is abnormal the whole cycle will be canceled! UGH! Let's just hope this is not me. And it should not be me. What they look for to call abnormal is low estrogen levels and cystic ovaries. If everything goes well with the first ultrasound we will start follitism which stimulates my ovaries to produce mature eggs. The ultrasounds thereafter will let the Doc know how many are developing. When I go on the 5th they can tell me how many are developing. On the 8th if everything is developing correctly he will tell me when to take my trigger shot. This shot triggers the ovaries to prepare to release eggs. This is why it's so important for the ultrasounds so that we don't miss ovulation. If we missed ovulation the doc would not be able to retrieve the eggs and the whole cycle would be a complete loss. My retrieval will probably be around the 11th with the transfer falling around the 13th/14th. Pregnancy test will be around the 25th of Feb. 1 day before my bday. I'm stressing a lil because after Feb 11th (retrieval) I cannot workout. If I do it will have to be yoga/water aerobics. Right now I'm working out 5 days a week for an hour at time (weights and cardio). Guess I'll be cutting back on this. If we do get pregnant no working out until the 2nd trimester. IF we get a positive pregnancy test then 2 weeks later they schedule an ultrasound to see "how many" are in there. Throughout the entire class she kept saying babies, eggs, embryos, sacs, multiples. I think I almost passed out at one point. If we get pregnant we have a 10% chance of triplets and 68% chance of twins. WOW! Please god just give us one healthy child! We also paid the rest of the money. We had already paid around 1800 for the meds. Yesterday we put 4500 on a no interest Chase Credit card. We have the money in savings to pay this off but plan to make interest free payments in hopes of not depleting our savings. I also put 2000 on my Flexible Spending account. We will owe another 1000 dollars on the day of the retrieval. So it all adds up to around $10, 700. So I know this is alot of information. Just trying to share as much as I can. Thanks for everyone's love and support!!!
